Comfort Zone — Keep Out
30A Landscape Collection
This painting began with a familiar scene along 30A—soft white sand dunes, weathered fencing, and a simple sign meant to protect what is fragile. In the original photograph, the words read “Keep Out of Dunes.” When I repainted it, the message shifted.
“Comfort Zone — Keep Out.”
The dunes remain beautiful and untouched, but the meaning changes entirely. Comfort zones feel safe, predictable, and easy to stay within—but they also keep us from growth. Just like the dunes, they are delicate spaces that can either protect us for a season or quietly limit how far we go.
This piece is a reminder that what feels safe isn’t always where life happens. Growth lives just beyond the fence. Beyond the familiar path. Beyond the sign that tells us to stay back.
Comfort Zone — Keep Out invites you to question the boundaries you’ve accepted—and to consider what might be waiting on the other side.
